12ga or 20ga shotgun that can hold up to 3 shells. If your gun can hold more than 3 shells, it needs to have a plug limiting the number of shells to 3. (Exceptions for the Snow Goose Conservation Order)
For geese we recommend 3 or 3 1/2in shells with shot size of BB-#2 shot. For ducks we recommend 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells with shot size of #1-#4 shot. All shells for waterfowl hunting must be Non-Toxic, meaning the shot must be made out of Steel, Bismuth or Tungsten, NOT LEAD.
Most of our hunting scenarios are in shallow water, meaning that tall waterproof boots are important. Most of the time waders are not requires if you have creek boots.
The weather can vary in Northeast Arkansas, from high 70's degrees during the Early Goose Season to 0 degrees during late Duck Season. Make sure you check the weather and pack accordingly for the condition. During Snow Goose Conservation Hunts, please bring solid white outerwear in case we hunt in the decoys.
Make sure to pack your own body wash, shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste.
The lodge does have a full kitchen, so feel free to bring your own food, drinks and snacks. The town of Delaplaine does not have many options for food or drink. The town of Paragould is 30 minutes away, and Jonesboro is 45 minutes away.
Although eye and ear protection is not required, it is recommended. Safety is our number one priority, just in front of having fun.
Overnight hunters should arrive between 5pm-7pm the night before your first day of hunting.
On the final day of your hunt, please have your belonging packed and out of the lodge by 1pm to allow time for cleaning before the next hunters arrive.
3 bedrooms with 4 sets of bunk beds, and 2 Queen size beds. Sleeping up to 12 hunters.
